Emittance

Postcript version, raw
data, raw data
reduced to two
samples per turn. The raw data consists of s in meters for the
first column,
horizontal normalized RMS emittance in m-rad for the second column and
vertical normalized RMS emittance in m-rad for the third column.

Normalized horizontal and vertical emittances, and their sum divided by
two from a high resolution run, using a 129 by 129 by 129 computational
grid.

Simulation and Analysis description
Input beam
- Gaussian in transverse dimensions
- Uniform in z
- zero delta p/p
- matched to linear lattice (without space charge)
- 1098880 particles
Space charge calculation
- 100 space charge kicks per turn
- verified that 200 space charge kicks per turn produce similar
results
- calculated on a 65x65x65 grid
- verified that 129x129x129 grid produces similar results
- finite transverse, periodic longitudinal BC's
- took a longitudinal slice of 13.7 mm
- verified that 10x larger z slice produces similar results
- total current = 8 x 0.154 A
Optics
- Q_H = 6.21, Q_V = 6.21
- real lattice (not constant focusing)
- linear maps
Tune calculations
- FFT of one sample/turn
- added 6 to resulting fractional tune
- tunes distributions for a random subsample of 8231 tracks
